Trespass Glare UpLight Excess
.
Saskatoon Skate Parks
Concern: Sporting facilities often use unshielded, poorly pointed floodlighting.
Current Status:  Success!  Park lighting recommended by developer / consultant retained full cut-off fixtures with flat lenses.

Acorn Streetlights - Willow Grove
Concern: City of Saskatoon appears to have decided to use acorn luminaries as the new standard for boulevard lighting for new subdivisions
Current Status: undetermined
South Downtown - River Landing Project
Concern:  That acorn lighting as installed downtown will be perpetuated with the South Downtown Development on both City and MVA land near the river.  We hope to convince the City to convert to shielded fixtures for the development.
Current Status:
undetermined
.
UofS Griffiths Stadium
Concern: That proposed new sports lighting for Griffiths Stadium could create the usual sports field light excesses, plus seriously affect the  U of S Astronomy photometry program done less than ½ kilometer away
Current Status: (so, what happened, and wasn't the Vanier Cup in 2006, not 2005?)...
Hampton Village
Current Status: Success!, although City still hesitant to make this example general policy.
Mission Ridge Country Estates

Sarilia Country Estates
RM of Laird

Current Status: The Sarilia Owners Handbook shows that Design Review Committee is committed to preserving the natural setting of the development, and recognizes the adverse effects of improper lighting upon it.   (view relevant section)
